Desirable 'X50' Performance Package
6 Speed Manual Transmission
74,000 Miles with a Fully-Documented History
Extensive Detail, 3 Stage Machine Polish and Ceramic Coating
The 996 Turbo and specifically the 'X50' Performance Pack cars are the most potent factory specification of that generation. This particular car is a six-speed manual Cabriolet finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a Metropole Blue interior and hood — a specification very few cars left the factory wearing. The accompanying Certificate of Production confirms the car's full specification and the 'X50' Performance Pack, as well as heated seats and ParkAssist. The factory supplied hardtop also accompanies the car.
The depth of history that defines this example has been individually assessed and compiled into a single digitalised provenance file. Turning two decades of paperwork into a clear and verifiable account of every owner, service and mile, all cross-referenced and documented to a level of detail you will not find on another example. The knowing of exactly how a modern classic has lived is a point of confidence that is rarely afforded to a buyer in this market.
Delivered new by Porsche Centre East London in October 2003, the car spent its first eleven years under Porsche main-dealer care — first with Porsche Centre Colchester through to 2009, then a long relationship with Porsche Centre Kendal through to 61,839 miles, before passing to established marque specialists including Jasmine Porschalink, Zuffenhaus, GCR Central and LAP 911 for its most recent service in 2025.
The service record is fully stamped and supported by corresponding invoices throughout. Most recently the car received a new starter motor in 2025 alongside the service, preceded by a replacement water pump, drive belt and a fresh Bosch battery in 2023. The turbo vacuum actuator and a complete set of ignition coils were renewed in the final year with Porsche Centre Kendal. What this car may carry in mileage over some alternatives, it more than answers for in the quality and evidence of its ownership — a level of due care and respect a 996 Turbo deserves and what some lower-mileage examples often cannot demonstrate.
Model Overview
The 'X50' Performance Pack 996 Turbo has firmly established itself as a staple specification for collectors seeking one of the most rewarding modern-classic Porsches. Marked as the last era of 911 to deliver a properly raw and analogue driving experience, the 'X50' Turbo utilises the celebrated 3.6L 'Mezger' engine — a road-going descendant of the Le Mans-winning 911 GT1. Delivering 450HP, an additional 30HP over the standard Turbo and only marginally shy of the GT2, power is planted and exploited by an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The 'X50' package adds larger KKK K24 turbochargers, larger intercoolers, a revised ECU and quad tailpipes.
Preparation
Prepared to an exceptional standard, this 996 Turbo has been brought to its full potential.
Exterior — the paintwork benefits from a full 3 stage machine polish and 'Gtechniq' Ceramic Coating, delivering a deep gloss and 7 year protection from the elements. Both front brake lines have been renewed, and a fresh pair of Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres have been fitted to the front axle. The rear tyres are legal, however would benefit from replacement as noted as the sole advisory on the recent MOT in May 2026.
Interior — the Metropole Blue leather has been cleaned and conditioned throughout. All carpets and mats have been deep cleansed with compressed-air tools followed by full wet-vacuum extraction. The engine bay has been lightly detailed to retain an honest, original condition.
Presenting with only light signs of considered use to reflect an honest and genuine condition, this 996 Turbo 'X50' is a brilliant choice and entry into the marque for anyone wanting a driver-grade example they can feel comfortable using and enjoying.
